Abel Jones is a Photographer based in Portland, OR and working all over the Pacific Northwest.

Hello My Name is Abel Jones and I have been surrounded by photography since my birth. My father Donn Jones has been a professional photographer for 30+ years. during my early years I didn’t really have an interest in photography, in fact I would get frustrated when my dad would have me pose so he could test out a new flash or light or lens. All that changed as I got older and Freshman year of high school I decided to take a photography class, to help with this my dad’s friend gave me a 35mm film camera, a Nikkormat. That camera almost never left my side throughout my high school career.

After graduating high school, I continued to take pictures with the Nikkormat but with no plans for it to go anywhere. After showing some developed photos to one of my friends and his mom, she suggested I try doing it professionally. At this point I decided that I loved photography so much that I would love to do it more and help people out by providing a professional service at affordable rates.

Now, coming up on 8 years of shooting professionally, I’ve enjoyed watching my skills grow as I’ve studied other photographer and learned from them as well as taken into practice what I’ve learned, and as I grow in this, the more I realize there is for me to learn. I’m excited to continue to improve my craft and to to have you join me on this journey. Over the past few years I’ve also started to learn and grow in my skills as a videographer.
